APPLE TURNOVER

Ingredients.....1 sheet of puff pastry defrosed, 2 apples , peeled, cored and sliced, 2 tbs of butter/ marg, 2 tbs of castor sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon sugar. Preheat your oven to 200deg C. First cook the prepared apple slices in a frypan with the butter/marg and castor sugar, the cinnamon sugar and vanilla extract. The apples should be slightly firm and still retain their sliced shape. Remove the pan from the heat and let apples cool completely. Cut 4 cirles or squares from the puff pastry sheet and fill in each round with a few tablespoons of the prepared apples. Fold the pastry and join the edges with a little water, to make into 4 turnovers. Place the turnovers on a buttered baking tray. Mark the top of the turnovers with a few incisions, brush with a beaten egg, sprinkle lightly with castor sugar. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden and puffy.
