Dice and boil 6 onions and shred 4 carrots until tender .
Drain.
Peel, dice and boil 8 potatoes till tender .
Drain and mash thoroughly .
Add 1/2 cup of evaporated milk and 1/4 cup of butter
Add the cooked shredded carrots and onions , mix well .
I topped the hutspot with cocktail franks and knackwurst sausages .
