I received a small box of dried figs from Kangaroo Island as a gift from my daughter Nicole.
The figs have been beautifully preserved and dried , so I placed individual figs into small preserving jars and topped the jars with tawny port and replaced the lids , the jars will now be left to sit for 12 weeks .
The swollen figs will then be served with cheese and the remains of the port in the jars .
