TERIYAKI CHICKEN

A dish best prepared the night before...or prepare the marinade and prepare the trimmed chicken wings and then the marinade , coat the wings and they can be frozen till needed. Ingredients......500gm of chicken wings, trimmed, canola oil for greasing. For the marinade you will need 175 ml of soy sauce, 125 ml of coca cola, 2 tbs of orange juice, 1 tbp of minced ginger, 2 tbs of minced garlic,cracked black pepper and chilli flakes to taste. To prepare the marinade, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. Add the chicken wings and turn to coat, at this stage you can cover and marinate overnight in the refrigerator or place the tray covered in your freezer. Preheat your oven to 180 deg C. Place the chicken or defrosted chicken in a well greased baking pan, reserving the excess marinade. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Now remove the baking pan from the oven, move the chicken around in the pan and baste with the reserved marinade and then continue to cook in the oven for 15 minutes . The chicken is well served with a mixed leaf salad and chips... Enjoy.
