TUMERIC

MAHATMA GANDHI ......' It is good health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver "

Tumeric is a liver tonic .
The liver is the second largest organ in our body .
Our livers suffer abuse from all types of food , medications , alcohol and external toxins .
Take care of your liver it`s never too late ..
Take this tonic each day ..

Tumeric Latte

1 tsp of turmeric
1 tsp of honey
Mix with a tbs of  boiling water
( preferably use your coffee machine )
Top with hot milk  extra hot but more than 70deg C , ( friend and best coffee maker Laufa  Oakley assures me this is the correct temperature )

EGG `N` TOMATO

Heat your oven to 200deg C
Line a baking tray with baking paper .
Slice the top off each tomato (  1 tomato per serve )
Remove the seeds and core with a small spoon
Season with cayenne pepper and thyme .
Place on the prepared baking tray along with asparagus spears ( 2 spears of asparagus per serve )
Roast for 10 minutes or until the tomatoes are tender .
Remove from the oven and crack an egg into each tomato
Season with a little salt .
Return to the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the eggs are set and cooked to your liking .
Sprinkle with fresh parsley .

CAYENNE PEPPER

Cayenne pepper is an amazing spice , for the entire digestive system and the heart and circulatory system .
It also  stops bleeding by just sprinkling a little on a cut ..no it does not cause stinging .
Cayenne can be a substitute for normal pepper ,

LET`S DO BREAKFAST ....APPLE PIE AND CHIA PUIDDING

Despite their tiny size , chia seeds are loaded with fibre , protein and omega 3 fatty acids .
Chia seeds are easily added to cereals , smoothies and salads .

Combine 125gm of natural Greek yoghurt with 15gm of chia seeds and 1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon with a 80 ml of water .
Cover and place in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight .
When you are ready to serve breakfast ....
Dice 1 medium apple with skin on , sprinkle with ground cinnamon and microwave for 2 -3 minutes until soft .
Add the softened apple cubes to the chia seed pudding .

GOJI BUGS

Slice an unpeeled apple into good sized rounds .
Spread  each slice with peanut butter
Dot with goji berries ...
Don`t peel the apple , as the majority of vitamins , minerals and other nutrients that are found in apples are  in the skin , it is also the fibre in the skin that fills you up .

LEMON MOUSSE

Using  an electric mixer , place 225 ml of double cream in the large mixing bowl and beat the cream until stiff peaks form . Place in the refrigerator .
In a separate bowl with the mixer set on a medium speed , beat 110gm of cream cheese ( room temperature ) along with the zest and juice of 1 lemon , 1 tbs of sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla extract .
Mix until well blended . ( 10 minutes )
Gently fold in the whipped cream to the cream cheese mix until thoroughly combined .
Serve immediately or chill to serve later .

This is a light dessert that produces a thick, rich mousse.
A big statement I know .... but it`s the best mousse I have eaten .
