LORD HAREWOOD’S GINGERBREAD
Preheat your oven to 160 deg C .
Place 250gm of butter / marg , 250 gm of castor sugar and 250 gm of treacle in a saucepan and heat slowly until melted .
In a separate bowl mix together 375gm of plain flour , 1 tbs of arrowroot , 1 tbs of bi carb of soda with 1/4 tsp of salt .
Now add to the melted mixture .
Add 2 lightly beaten eggs along with 1 and 1/4 cups of lukewarm milk .
Mix well .
Pour into a well oiled pan ( 8"x 11") and lightly sprinkled with fine polenta .
Bake for 1 and 1/2 hours or until golden and a skewer comes out clean when tested .
The gingerbread is moist and keeps well in an airtight container .
Oh yes , this good .
